How can we stop the poverty that leads to homelessness?

Hi I’m in the 7th grade and I picked homeless teens and spirituality because in my neighborhood there is a lot of poverty. My father works at a school where there are a lot of poor teens. One day my father told me about one of the students at his school a 12yr old girl that lives on streets. He notice that there was something weird she had ripped jeans, no jacket, and very skinny. So he brought her food and helped her.

I felt so bad when I heard about her because I heard that people are poor but I never knew that a 12 year old is and shes still young. I was very concerned but happy that my dad was helping her. I hope to learn how do teens survive and how can I help.

Schools NEED to pay attention to homeless teens

An interesting fact is that most teens go to school and try to act normal so that people won’t know that they are homeless and also they run away because there parents don’t want them, abuse, or other issues. It is important, stands out to me, and it connects to my topic because homeless teens shouldn't be hiding things as serious as this is. They should at least go to a shelter or go to an adult that they trust, a teacher or guidance consular, and ask them for help.

It makes me feel sad knowing that they are going through these things. If I were in their shoes I would feel scared as much as they do. I feel that schools should pay more attention to the students, by how the act, dress, talk and other things because that reflects what’s going in on in there environment when they leave the schools. For example the school should have a class for children to talk about their feelings and their problems in school and out of school. The fact that teens try to hide their homelessness makes me think differently about my topic because I want to know how do they live with this and how most of the people survive on the streets.
